How to Change Your Discord Banner (Nitro Required)

Discord profile banners are eye-catching headers that appear at the top of your profile. While they require Discord Nitro, they're an excellent way to showcase your personality and style.

What is a Discord Banner?

A Discord banner is a wide decorative image (600x240 pixels) that appears at the top of your user profile. Unlike your PFP which appears everywhere, banners are only visible when someone views your full profile by clicking your username.

Discord Nitro Requirement

Important: Profile banners are a Discord Nitro exclusive feature. You'll need either:

• Discord Nitro: Full subscription ($9.99/month or $99.99/year)
• Discord Nitro Basic: Budget option ($2.99/month) - includes banner upload

Both subscription tiers allow you to upload and customize your profile banner. If your Nitro subscription expires, your banner will be removed from your profile.

Banner Image Requirements

• Recommended size: 600x240 pixels
• Aspect ratio: 5:2 (wide horizontal image)
• Maximum file size: 10MB
• Supported formats: JPG, PNG, GIF (animated)

How to Change Your Discord Banner

1. Open User Settings: Click the gear icon (⚙️) next to your username
2. Go to Profiles: Select "Profiles" from the User Settings menu
3. Click Change Banner: Under the banner preview area, click "Change Banner"
4. Upload Your Banner: Select your 600x240px banner image
5. Preview and Save: Review how it looks and click "Save Changes"

Banner Design Tips

• Coordinate with your PFP: Use matching colors or themes
• Consider profile layout: Your PFP overlaps the bottom-left of your banner
• Use high contrast: Make sure text on your banner is readable
• Keep it simple: Overly busy banners can look cluttered
• Match your aesthetic: Anime, gaming, nature, abstract - choose your vibe
